A functional yet largely overlooked staple of a woman's wardrobe, the popularity of slips and half slips has diminished steadily over the years. That has not, however, stopped my wife from wearing them.Usually quite simple and utilitarian in design, half slips are useful to prevent static cling, hide one's silhouette, and help a dress to drape properly. This particular garment is constructed of 100% cotton, something my wife always looks for; it provides good breathability while providing a comfortable, cooling feel. There is no appreciable stretch in the fabric. This half slip has the classic, conservative appearance one might expect of such a garment with lightly shaded vertical lines which run from the hem to the waist; the hem itself is finished with a half inch wide band of lace. The waistband is elasticized and has enough stretchiness to accommodate a decent range of sizes.The slip is well crafted; we were unable to find any flaws in material or workmanship. As is usual for garments made of cotton, hand washing in cool water and air drying is recommended to prevent shrinkage.With its simple classic lines and cotton construction, this half slip is exactly what my wife was looking for! It is the perfect length to wear with most of her dresses and folds down in to a compact size that's perfect for travel. Highly recommended.
